Morning yoga a Smart way to start the day!

Why wake up with stress, anxiety or worry? They just crash the party and ruin the entire day.

Yoga is a wonderful, gentle relaxing way to energise and revitalise. First thing in the morning it can be a way to invite only the nice things in, positivity, motivation and confidence, and when that lot got your back there's nothing to worry about for the rest of the day.

Why Yoga?

Often we wake in the morning with a higher level of the hormone cortisol in our body. This chemical can encourage feelings of stress and anxiety by setting off the fight and flight response, which puts our mind and body on red alert antisipating danger.

But yoga stimulates the relaxation response which brings our system back into balance: deepening our breathing, reducing stress hormones, slowing down heart rate and blood pressure, and relaxing muscles.

Sometimes we just benefit form taking time to focus on our mind and body, stretching tired mucles and releasing tension that has been stored during the night. What a lovely way to face the work for another day.

Health Benefits of Yoga

The practice of yoga involves stretching the body and forming different poses, while keeping breathing slow and controlled. The body becomes relaxed and energized at the same time. There are various styles of yoga, some moving through the poses more quickly, almost like an aerobic workout, and other styles relaxing deeply into each pose. Some have a more spiritual angle, while others are used purely as a form of exercise.
