Stress is a bitch but yoga for stress relief can be one way to fight back.

Smart girls know we can’t avoid all stress, but we can counteract its negative effects by evoking the relaxation response, a state of deep rest that is the polar opposite of the stress response.

When the stress response floods our body with chemicals that prepare us for fight or flight it wears our body down when constantly activated. 

I'm not talking about the good type of stress either, which motivates and drives us, but the bitchy part of stress,  arriving uninvited and making herself at home. She can be really bad for us;

  • She wears us down, makes us irritable shattered and drained.
  • She makes us angry, uptight or dreading the future.
  • She can make us ill....really actually physically ill. This can be serious. 
  • She can affect our appetite; over eating else loss of appetite.
  • She can ruin our looks: causing lack of sleep, dull hair, brittle nails, and bad skin.
  • She can hold us back in work so we can’t concentrate or make decisions.
  • She can meddle in our relationship, make us lash out at those we love and make us a Pain to be around.
  • She can sap our Mojo, ruin our sense of humour, steal our sex drive, and leave us with no energy for having fun and enjoying life.

Lots of good reasons to fight back and reclaim our lives from stress and her nasty mates; Anxiety the Drag and Fear the Bully.


Yoga stimulates the relaxation response which brings our system back into balance: deepening our breathing, reducing stress hormones, slowing down heart rate and blood pressure, and relaxing muscles.

Yoga for Stress relief is ideal way to incorporate smartness into our lives.
